Saddling Up after a Rest Stop
Our group of eight riders stops to rest, refresh and check in with one another about every 20 kilometers/12 miles. We eat a banana or other fruit, drink water or Gatorade, replenish our water bottles (hydration is very important throughout a day of cycling in hot weather like this), and talk together. The 5-10 minute stop usually ends when our team leader Bob Yardy climbs on his bike and tells us it's time to roll again.
